Work Plan (forest fire) proposed by MoF Indonesia
1. Title of the Work Plan
Development of Regional Forest Fire Management Centre
for Peat and Swamp Areas
2. Main objectives of the Work Plan
To establish Regional Forest Fire Management Center for
Peat and Swamp Areas Center which may handle wild-land fire problems
optimally and smoothly through serious implementation of regional integrated
forest fire management.
3. Expected results
Information priority has been agreed by partners,
design of information needed has been developed, data and information in the
region have been collected and computer program for data base has been
developed;
Each partners can utilize the system;
Qualified hardware has been provided;
Dissemination of information to both centers and
each partner;
Well understanding about the utilization of
Regional Forest Fire Management Center in order to support all forest fires
efforts in Region;
Results of research information, profile of
existing research center or institution collected;
Research priority on peat and swamp fires in the
region has been formulated;
Appropriate and modern technologies for peat and
swamp fires have been developed;
Indigenous technologies for prevention, control
and mitigation have been collected and strengthened;
Suitable project site has been decided;
Design building and layout have been finished;
List of appropriate equipment;
Qualified and quantity of staff has been
fulfilled;
Promotion to donor partners has been done
simultaneously
4. Modalities/Procedures
Possibility to set up and establishment the
Center in appropriate peat and swamp area which is fire-sensitive;
Develop information system of integrated forest
fire management in the region;
Strengthen strong link between member of
partnership through the existing of the ASEAN forest fire management center
for dry-land in Thailand in order to support fire management activities in
each country;
Conduct research through collaboration with
existing research center or research institution in the region;
Provide building, facilities, human resources and
financial support in order to support all activities;
Convene a meeting among relevant stakeholders in
the region.
Links of partnership/Initiative with on-going
sustainable development activities
The project represents a component of the EC-Indonesia
Forest Programme (ECIP),Forest Fire Prevention Management Project 2
(JICA–Indonesia), Integrated Forest Fire Management project (IFFM–GTZ),
Forest Fire Prevention and Control Project (FFCP–EU), Integrated Forest Fire
Management Project ITTO-CFC, etc.
