- The 3rd Meeting for the Promotion of AFP
November 21, 2003 in Kisarazu, Japan
This meeting followed up on concrete actions of AFP in the fields of
combating illegal logging, preventing and fighting forest fire, and
rehabilitating and reforesting degraded lands, which were agreed by the
partners of AFP at the 2nd meeting of AFP held in Yogyakarta on July this
year. It further discussed organizational matters, e.g. information networks
and decision-making mechanisms, fund raising and management as well as
appropriate measures to enhance and enlarge the AFP.

- The 2nd Meeting for the Promotion of AFP
July 9-10, 2003 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia
The purpose of the meeting
is to build strong and mutual partnership to develop concrete and
coordinated approaches towards the achievement of sustainable forest
management in the Asia region. Specifically, the objectives of the meeting
are:
- To enhance the prospects for the partnership adding significant
value to on going efforts in the region;
- To identify and explore potential activities which are of particular
interest of partners in addressing forest issues in the region.
The purpose of the meeting is to build strong and
mutual partnership to develop concrete and coordinated approaches towards
the achievement of sustainable forest management in the Asia region.
Specifically, the objectives of the meeting are:
