Asian Development Bank (ADB) is a multilateral development bank. Both ADB and AFP share the common development agenda of promoting sustainable economic growth, environmental protection and regional cooperation.

In October 2002 Department for International Development launched a three-year program aimed at facilitating reforms by national and international institutions to address failures of governance, policies and markets that sustain illegal logging. Forest Law Enforcement and Governance Programme information is available.

European Commission: Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT process), the Commission's action plan for tackling illegal logging and trade in illegal timber. Mainly contains information and some papers from the Commission workshop held in Brussels in April 2002.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) leads international efforts to defeat hunger and better the lives of rural people. Serving both developed and developing countries, FAO promotes sustainable rural development and agriculture (including forestry).

Overseas Development Institute (ODI) is an independent think tank on international development and humanitarian issues. ODI's mission is to inspire and inform policy and practice which lead to the reduction of poverty, the alleviation of suffering and the achievement of sustainable livelihoods in developing countries.

The Royal Institute of International Affairs is a central point of information on all aspects of the current international debate around the control of illegal logging and forest crimes.

The World Bank's ESSD Forest Governance Program is designed to promote a change in current practices in production forestry -- to contain the negative social, ecological and economic impacts of poor governance and illegal forestry activities, and improve the process by which concessions are allocated and managed.
