Work Plan (training) proposed by MoF Indonesia

1. Title of the Work Plan

Human Resource Development for Forestry Personnel through Training Courses in Forest and Land Rehabilitation

2. Main objectives of the Work Plan

To help partners in handling and solving the problems of forest and land rehabilitation and related issues.

  1. To provide skill-full, trained and professional officers within the partner institutions managing forest issues and related institutions with relevant and sound background of forest and land rehabilitation issues;

  2. To enhance their roles and awareness in preventing forest degradation and/or destruction;

  3. To promote rehabilitation of forest and land as well as promoting natural conservation issues.

3. Expected results

1.    to strengthen the personnel capacity of partners through education and training;

2.    to provide support for the forest and land rehabilitation forest management;

3.    to provide support for forestry policy and development.

4. Modalities/Procedures

  • Setting up modules, curricula, and syllabus of training courses in forest and land rehabilitation;

  • Implementing and administrating a range of training course in forest and land rehabilitation, (e.g. modern nursery techniques, nursery planning and management, mass seedling production, land rehabilitation, land clearing techniques and/or mechanized land preparation, planting techniques and/or mechanized plantation, plantation management, etc.);

  • Organizing/convening a range of seminars and workshops on human resource development related to forest and rehabilitation issues.

5. Time frame

The implementation duration would be 2 consecutive years.

6. Arrangements for potential funding

  • Funding requires for implementation the project is expected to be around US $1.1 million.

  • Main financial supports are expected from donor partners e.g. Japan, EU, USDA, etc. Whilst, contributions are also expected coming from each partner involved.

  • In-kind contribution is expected from the Government of Indonesia.

7. Partners involved

Governments: Indonesia, Japan (expected), ASEAN Member Countries (expected), others to be identified

Intergovernmental Organizations: CIFOR (expected), others to be identified

Civil Society: to be identified
