Partner's Contribution and Work Plans Concrete actions under the AFP umbrella are specified in the work plan format describing the main objective, the expected results, procedure, timeframe, funding arrangements and partners involved. Work Plan template [23kb] In AFP2 (July, 2003 in Yogyakarta), participants discussed priority issues to be tackled in the three focus areas: illegal logging, forest fires, and forest rehabilitation. At the same time it was agreed that: (1) AFP should be Action oriented (2) AFP should not be only a duplication or a substitution of other related initiatives ・it should rather endeavor to fill gaps, enhance synergies, and add value to existing initiatives (3) AFP should be flexible enough to accommodate different interests and capacities of the partners ・not all partners need to participate in all AFP activities Based on these ideas the leading partner drafted Work Plans which were proposed at AFP3 (November, 2003 in Japan). The partner(s) who propose a Work Plan carry a certain responsibility for its implementation. The current work plans vary greatly in progress and nature: some have seen good progress, others have not, some need careful preparation, others could be jump-started as they are linked with already on-going activities.
