MUI SUPPORTS THE ERADICATION OF ILLEGAL LOGGING. The Indonesian Council of Islamic Scholars (MUI) recently stated they are very concerned about the wide spread practice of illegal logging in Indonesia and support the Ministry of Forestry’s efforts in eradicating these practices. The MUI stated that they also hope the Ministry of Forestry’s efforts will be implemented on a long-term basis and in coordination with all relevant stakeholders. [Download full text, ZIP, 321K]
